For clients only The Monday Morning NewsletterMay 2008 Provider Appreciation Day is Friday, May 9, 2008! We know you will want to join us in congratulating your provider and telling her how much you appreciate the important work that she does. Provider Appreciation Day was first created in 1995 by Monday Morning, Inc. MMI President, Sue Schmidt, founded the day with the help of Sue Williamson, Ginny Rutkowski and MMI staff members as a day of respect and recognition for family child care providers, center based staff, and advocates who work with young children everywhere. What started as a small grass-roots effort grew into a national day that is now celebrated throughout the United States, and with military child care, around the world. We cannot tell you how exciting it was to watch our work grow, receiving governor’s proclamations from around the country each year, and hearing thousands of stories of provider recognition! During this time, we created a separate non-profit organization to oversee the initiative. In 2006, when Sue Williamson began her term as President of the National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC), we transferred the initiative to the National Association of Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies (NACCRRA) and NAFCC. Those two national associations now work in partnership promoting the day. For more information, visit the website, www.providerappreciation.org. Please tell your friends and colleagues at work about Provider Appreciation Day so that they, too, can honor their children’s providers and teachers!Sincerely, Suzanne (Sue) Schmidt, President Sue Williamson, Executive Director Webmaster@MondayAM.com Copyright ©2008 |
